DriveWealth brings RLUSD settlement to European brokerage rails

Can RLUSD help DriveWealth move brokerage capital across borders? The firm is integrating Ripple’s stablecoin for settlement in Europe, with plans to expand to the US, while Ripple Payments will handle cross-border acceptance from DriveWealth’s global partners. The Ripple announcement says RLUSD will run on the XRP Ledger, alongside Ripple’s mint and burn capabilities.

The companies announced the partnership on October 14. DriveWealth provides brokerage infrastructure to fintechs, digital wallets and financial institutions offering access to US markets; its clients will be able to fund and manage collateral accounts with stablecoins that convert to cash in near real time, according to Ripple. The The Block report also says the integration starts in Europe before a planned US expansion.

How will RLUSD fit into DriveWealth’s settlement flow?

RLUSD is intended to let clients fund collateral accounts without waiting for a bank wire. Ripple says the stablecoin will sit on the XRP Ledger, while its mint and burn capabilities support issuance and redemption; the announcement does not give a launch date or settlement volumes. DriveWealth says it already supports 24/5 trading and wants funding to match those hours, including overnight and weekends.

The timing matters because US equities now settle on a T+1 basis, while cross-border dollar transfers can take longer, according to Ripple. That gap can tie up capital and raise funding requirements for firms operating across markets. The companies describe near-real-time conversion to cash, but have not disclosed the specific corridors, fees or operational limits.

What else is included in the Ripple deal?

DriveWealth is also integrating Ripple Payments for cross-border acceptance from its global partners and working with Ripple on digital-asset custody in Europe, with possible expansion to other markets. The firms are exploring equity-financing opportunities through Ripple Prime’s Delta One business, rather than announcing a completed financing service. DriveWealth also plans to bring treasury and custody infrastructure onto Ripple’s rails.

The next public checkpoint is October 28, when the companies are scheduled to discuss the partnership at Ripple Swell in New York. Watch for a deployment date and details on which European settlement flows will use RLUSD first.
