A Bitcoin whale holding over $72.5 million worth of BTC, mined in 2009, has made headlines by transferring a total of $3.6 million worth of Bitcoin to Kraken. Arkham Intelligence reported that the most recent transfers occurred yesterday, adding to a history of significant movements from this early miner.
According to Arkham's updates, the Bitcoin whale sent $3.58 million worth of BTC during these recent transactions. This Bitcoin was mined just a month after the cryptocurrency's launch in February/March 2009.
As of 4:03 p.m. ET, Bitcoin was trading at $62,376 according to The Block Price Page. Additionally, Arkham noted that on September 24, the same whale transferred five bitcoins to Kraken.
Interestingly, these transfers coincided with the release of an HBO trailer for a new documentary, set to air next Wednesday, exploring the identity of Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Arkham is recognized for its role in promoting transparency within the crypto space, providing tools for on-chain analysis that help trace illicit activities and track significant wallets.
In August, Arkham reported that a staggering 10,000 bitcoins, valued at nearly $600 million at the time, had been moved to a Coinbase Prime wallet. Such movements underline the dynamic nature of the cryptocurrency market.
