Hamster Kombat Token Launches Trading with Airdrop for 131 Million Users

Hamster Kombat Token Trading Begins

Hamster Kombat, recognized as one of Telegram's most engaging clicker games, has officially launched its token, HMSTR, for trading. A staggering 60 billion tokens have been distributed to 131 million qualifying user accounts, reflecting user participation during Season 1 of this tap-to-earn game on the TON blockchain.

Distribution and Trading Details

The trading of HMSTR tokens commenced at 8 a.m. ET on Thursday. The token is now available on major centralized exchanges such as Binance, OKX, Bitfinex, and Bitget. The 60 billion tokens represent 60% of the total supply of 100 billion HMSTR tokens. According to the Hamster Kombat team, an additional 15% (or 15 billion tokens) will be distributed during Season 2 of the game.

Challenges in Token Distribution

Given the scale of the airdrop, the TON Core team has acknowledged potential challenges in managing the distribution volume. They stated, "The network will undoubtedly face more technical pressures and possibly some unforeseen issues, but we are unwavering in our commitment to building and addressing these challenges as we move toward mass adoption."

Player Eligibility and Complaints

After the announcement, some players expressed concerns over the limited number of eligible accounts. The game's creators revealed that 2.3 million accounts were classified as "bots and cheaters" and were excluded from receiving tokens. The team emphasized that the airdrop was fairly allocated, with around 80% based on profit-per-hour rate and 20% on other activities.

Roadmap and Future Plans

On Wednesday, the Hamster Kombat team unveiled an updated roadmap. They plan to leverage advertising revenue for token buybacks, integrate NFTs as in-game assets by November, and aim to expand into new regions to enhance the game's ecosystem. Season 2 is set to launch soon, connecting platform content and third-party games.

Technological Innovations

The developers also announced plans to introduce a progressive web app (PWA) for desktop and mobile devices. In July, they launched a mini-app store and an in-app browser for Web3 pages, further enhancing the gaming experience.

TON Blockchain Overview

According to a recent report, the TON blockchain boasts approximately 900 million active users and hosts over 1,100 crypto projects. Its daily transaction volume has surged from 100,000 to 1.2 million this past year, with a total value locked (TVL) of around $430 million.
